Project Description

Working with an Internationally leading manufacturer of hot melt adhesives, Hardt Electric helped HMT integrate the highest-performing fixed roof solar array in the Chicagoland area by using the best products available in the commercial market.

Our team utilized the most efficient photovoltaic modules (SunPower® X21- 345) along with DC optimizers (Solaredge). This provided advanced module-based monitoring, maximum energy performance per module, and enhanced safety with automatic shutdown to the module level with SafeDC™ voltage protection. HMT Manufacturing, a northern-Illinois based manufacturer, is now able to subsidize at least 65% of its energy usage over the course of a year through solar power.

Additionally, this was our first solar project to utilize the Agile Construction Process including JPAC® Productivity Tracking, and Short Interval Scheduling (SIS®).
