David Hardt
David founded Hardt Electric in 1973 with his brother Bill. He began working in the electrical industry at the age of 12, beginning with sweeping floors at C&H Electric, his father’s electrical contracting company. Under David’s direction, Hardt Electric grew from a small firm with six electricians to one of Chicago’s pre-eminent firms with more than 50 electricians serving a number of industries including commercial, industrial, high-end residential and renewable energy.
David has been involved with the National Electrical Contractor’s Association (NECA), a $130 Billion/year association, since 1990. He was inducted into NECA’s academy and given the Cogshell award. David became NECA’s 33rd president in January 2015, and will be serving a three-year term. He was inducted into the Electric Contractor’s Association (ECA) Hall of Fame and received the Gold Medal Award (Man of the Year) in 2006. He received a Bachelor’s in Business Administration and Management from Bradley University.
